This is quite a book. The sheer amount of information is enough to bowl me over Regarding stars. It didn't get five stars because the beginning of the book was quite dry. It got more than three stars because it was quite interesting from the Civil War on. (I've been to some of these places, maybe that helps.) The book gallops along from one topic to the next and contains an incredible amount of information for the size of the book. it's a good starting place to study the history of Oklahoma. I would recommend this book to all Oklahomans, history buffs, and travel enthusiasts. Maybe someday I'll drive down that road myself. I'll be sure to bring this book along.
Oklahoma history buffs--especially those interested in the history of the eastern side of the state---will enjoy reading this book. There was much more information on the Osage Trace and Texas Road than is included in an Oklahoma History text book.
The author wrote an interesting, historically accurate book.
